Offerings

A number of different guided walk tours are offered. It can be historical, special themes or tailored for you. Guided walks can also include visits to any museum, depending on request.

The most common walk tour is Deep dive in the history of Stockholm, which describes the birth and historical evolvement of Stockholm from medieval time until today. We will make stops at squares, buildings and monument which are connected to the history. 

We offer guided walk tours about Industrial history (e.g. textile, brewing, shipyards, glassworks, engineering industry) in Stockholm from 17th century. Industrial walk tours can be arranged in different parts of Stockholm, for instance Kungsholmen and Södermalm but can also be tailored depending on interest.

Other special themes could for example be

  • Health care, Religion, Crime and punishment through the history
  • Following in the historical footstep of some famous persons, Nobel, Strindberg, Bellman, Hierta.
  • Visit Skansen, the worlds oldest open-air museum, a Sweden in miniature with old landscape houses from all over Sweden, showing customs and traditions mainly before the industrialism. There is also a zoo with swedish animals , e.g. bear, wolf, moose, lynx.
  • Deep dive in specific Events, e.g. the capsize of Vasa ship 1628 and salvage after 333 year, the union with Denmark ending with Stockholm blood bath 1520, when Gustaf IV was forced to resign 1809 and the history when Sweden elected a crown prince from France who later became Charles XIV Johan. Depending on your interest we can tailor a tour.

Guide Service for DMC's

We offer guide services for Destination Managment Consult (DMC) companies. It normally includes receiving cruising guests at a harbour, pan0rama tour in Stockholm including visits to several  museum/sights and perhaps a little walk tour in old town.

The guide service is flexible, and it is the DMC that decides the programme. We are working with the big DMC's such as BDPNext, DMC Nordic and Baltic Gateway.

Public Walk Tours

Deep dive in the history of Stockholm 2,5 hours, max 20 people

Level: Easy (plain ground, with a few short slopes)

During this walk, we visit hidden gems, historical buildings and monuments in Old Town. Many pictures will be shown.


We start at Birger Jarls square at Riddarholmen, with the history of Stockholm, from its birth in the 13th century. The walk tour will end close to Järntorget.

Level: Moderate (mostly plain ground, a few slopes)

During the walk tour we will visit former industrial areas where manufactories and later industries ruled from the end of the 17th century until the first half of the 20th century. Some buildings are still standing, while others are gone. Pictures will be shown of what it once looked like.

We meet at Pipersgatan 26, where a brief introduction to Stockholm's industrial history is given. The walk tour will end close to Kungsholmstorg

Level: Moderate (mostly plain ground)

During the walk tour we will visit former industrial areas where manufactories and later industries ruled from the 18th century to the first half of the 20th century. Some buildings are still standing, while others are gone. Pictures will show what it once looked like.

We meet in Mariebergsparken, ​​where a brief introduction to Stockholm's industrial history is given. The walk tour will end at Igeldammsgatan.

We meet at Hornsbruksgatan 19, where a brief introduction to Stockholm's industrial history is given. Walk tour ends at Monteliusvägen. As a bonus, we could end the tour with a fantastic panoramic view of Old town.

Historical beer walk at Södermalm + Beer tasting, 4 hours, max 18 people

Level: Moderate (mostly plain ground)

During the beer walk we will visit former industrial areas where breweries once resided from the 18th century to the first half of the 20th century. Some buildings are still standing, while others are gone. Pictures will show what it once looked like.

The walk starts at Ringvägen 117, just outside  Skanstull metro exit, where we begin by giving a brief historical background to the breweries and inns that have existed in Stockholm through the centuries. We then go north and treat several interesting brewery buildings before we end the hike with a beer tasting of at least 5 different beers in a secret location

Under ölvandringen kommer vi att besöka före detta industriområden där bryggerier en gång stod från 1700-talet till första hälften av 1900-talet. Vissa byggnader står fortfarande kvar, medan andra är borta. Många bilder kommer att visas.

Vandringen börjar på Ringvägen 117, vid Skanstulls T-baneutgång. Vi börjar med att ge en kort historisk bakgrund till de bryggerier och värdshus som funnits i Stockholm genom århundradena. Vi går sedan norrut och behandlar flera intressanta bryggeribyggnader innan vi avslutar vandringen med ölprovning av minst 5 olika ölsorter på hemlig plats.

Booking

To book a scheduled tour, click on 'Book' in the menu at top of page. To book you need to be adult, minimum age 18. You pay by card and receive confirmation via email. Note that pre-booking must be made no later than 24 hours before the start of the experience. If you book later, you must confirm with the guide, by SMS/Mobile: 070-601 4996.

You can also send an email to reserve your place. You can pay on the spot with cash, card or swish.


Cancellation policy

The walk tour can be canceled free of charge, no later than 24 hours before start. Failure to arrive in time will not be refunded.


Prices

Full price from age of 18. Note that youth under 18 year are only allowed with a legal guardian. Parents may bring children and youth under 18 years for free.

Discounted price for Senior (<65) and students.

About the company

The company started in 2019 by STAnley Rutgersson a qualified tourist guide for Stockholm in English and Swedish and member of FSAG (Association of Stockholm’s Authorized Guides).


Originally Stanley grew up in Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden but moved up to Stockholm area in the early 90's. Besides being a tourist guide he also holds a MSc in Electrical engineering and work at the telecomunications company LM Ericsson AB.


Stanley has a deep interest of Stockholm history, and has specific knowledge about the industrial history from mid 1600 to mid 1900.

The company has been working for the larger DMC companies, mainly by welcoming  tourists arriving by Cruise ships, and then bring them on a guided panorama bus tour, including visits to museums and tourist attractions, e.g. Vasa museum, City Hall, Royal Palace.


We offer a number of walk tours where historical events and anecdotes are told, while showing important places, buildings and monuments.


Tailored walk tours and event packages can also be arranged.


We enjoy meeting people and learn about different cultures in different parts of the world. Please get in touch.
